General Membership Requirements
To become a member of EHAHRD-Net, organizations must meet the following general criteria
Firm belief and commitment to human rights promotion
Operational within East and Horn of Africa sub-region
Non-partisan, non-governmental, and non-profit
Membership Categories

Full Member
Requirements
- Recommendation from relevant local authorities
- Copy of constitution and work plan
- Certificate of registration
- Proof of activities compatible with network objectives
Rights & Benefits
- Full voting rights in General Assembly
- Can elect or be elected to any organ
- Use of network facilities
- Can be nominated as representative
Associate Member
Requirements
- Certificate of registration
- Proof of activities compatible with network objectives
Rights & Benefits
- Participate without voting rights
- Cannot be elected to organs/committees
- Use of network facilities (by agreement)
- Can be nominated as representative
Honorary Member
Requirements
- By invitation of Advisory Council only
- Demonstrated support of voluntary sector
- High esteem in society
- Ability to promote network image
Rights & Benefits
- Not eligible for director election
- No voting rights
- Can offer technical advice
- Use of network facilities
Member Obligations
All network members are expected to fulfill these obligations to ensure effective coordination and collaboration
Make periodic reports about activities and campaigns
Provide regular country situation reports
Report on HRDs under threat or forced to leave
Participate in network activities when invited
Elect a network focal person for your country
Inform secretariat about administrative changes
