EHAHRDP condamne fermement l’assassinat du fils de Pierre Claver Mbonimpa et la montée de la violence au Burundi
Le Projet des défenseurs des droits de l’homme de la Corne et l’Est de l’Afrique condamne fermement l’assassinat de Welly Fleury Nzitonda, le fils de l’éminent défenseur des droits de l’homme Pierre Claver Mbonimpa. Il a été arrêté ce matin alors qu’il se trouvait dans le quartier de Mutakura, un des quartiers dits « contestataires » de la capitale. Il aurait été battu, et son corps sans vie a été retrouvé plusieurs heures plus tard non loin de là où il a été arrêté.
EHAHRDP strongly condemns assassination of Pierre-Claver Mbonimpa’s son and escalating violence in Burundi
The East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Project strongly condemns the assassination of Welly Fleury Nzitonda, the son of renowned human rights defender Pierre Claver Mbonimpa. He was arrested this morning as he was travelling to Mutakura, one of the “contested” neighbourhoods of Bujumbura. He was reportedly beaten, and his dead body was found several hours later not far from the location of the arrest.
